Wholesale Bulk Order Discount Program

Overview

The Bulk Order Discount Program provides wholesale customers with tiered discounts based on the quantity of specific product variants ordered in a single transaction. Discounts are applied separately for each variant (e.g., French Roast Colombian, 12 Ounces, Ground, Regular). Combinations of different variants do not count toward the total quantity required for a discount.

Discount Tiers

Each product type has specific quantity thresholds for discounts. The applicable discount percentage increases as higher quantity thresholds are met.

Rules and Conditions

1. Product Variant Specificity:

   • Discounts are applied based on the quantity of a single product variant within an order.

   • Different variants cannot be combined to reach a discount threshold.

     • Example: "French Roast Colombian, 12 Ounces, Ground, Decaf" and "French Roast Colombian, 12 Ounces, Ground, Regular" are treated as separate variants and do not count toward the same threshold.

2. Single-Order Basis:  Discounts apply only to quantities purchased in a single transaction. Orders cannot be combined retroactively.

3. Automatic Application:  Discounts will be automatically applied at checkout if the quantity of a product variant meets or exceeds a threshold.

Examples

Example 1: Pod Boxes

• A customer orders 50 boxes of Signature Blend Pod Boxes (12 pods per box):

  • This meets the 42-unit threshold for a 2.5% discount but does not reach the 84-unit threshold for a 5% discount.

  • Discount Applied: 2.5%.

Example 2: 12 Ounce Bags

• A customer orders:

  • 40 bags of "Breakfast Roast, 12 Ounces, Ground, Regular."

  • 40 bags of "Breakfast Roast, 12 Ounces, Whole Bean, Regular."

  • Neither product variant individually meets the 72-bag threshold for a discount. The two variants cannot be combined.

  • Discount Applied: None.

Example 3: Mixed Product Types

• A customer orders:

  • 50 boxes of Cafe Bella Pod Boxes (12 pods per box).

  • 150 bags of "Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, 12 Ounces, Ground, Regular."

  • The Pod Boxes meet the 42-unit threshold for a 2.5% discount, while the 12 Ounce Bags meet the 144-unit threshold for a 5.0% discount.

  • Discount Applied:

    • Pod Boxes: 2.5%.

    • 12 Ounce Bags: 5.0%.

Example 4: 5 Pound Bags

• A customer orders 20 bags of "Sumatra Mandheling, 5 pounds, Whole Bean, Regular":

  • This exceeds the 16-unit threshold for a 2.5% discount but does not reach the 32-unit threshold for a 5.0% discount.

  • Discount Applied: 2.5%.

Implementation and Support

• Ordering System: Discounts are calculated automatically during checkout based on the quantities of individual product variants.
